Buddy Rogers and Family Playhouse
Home to the Olathe Community Theatre Association, the Buddy Rogers and Family Playhouse resides in a historic church named after silent film star and one-time Olathe resident Buddy Rogers. The Theatre Association presents six live theatrical productions each season which includes progressive first-run shows to theatre classics, including one musical per season and a children’s theatre production in June.
Chestnut Fine Arts Center
The Dickens Carolers call this drama and music studio their home where musicals and plays are performed September through May of each year. Children’s music, theatre, voice and piano lessons are also available.
Kansas City Symphony
This premiere Kansas City musical organization is comprised of extremely gifted and dedicated performers whose mission is to share their talents and passion for this fabulous art form with the people of the Kansas City area. The company’s dedication to excellence exhibits in every performance and through outreach programs designed to make the Kansas City area a cultural center for the Midwest.
The completion of Interstate 35 in 1957 provided a better link to Kansas City and significantly altered the city’s growth with this new method of accessibility.
